What is IITM Grade Suite

IITM Grade Suite is a free set of calculators for students of the IITM BS in Data Science and Applications program: a Grade Calculator, a Grade Predictor, and a CGPA tracker. It exists because working out "what score do I actually need on the end-term" by hand, from a dense policy document, is tedious and easy to get wrong under exam pressure.

How the calculations work

Every course formula, eligibility rule, and bonus condition in this app is taken from the official May 2026 IITM BS-DS grading document. Where the document is clear, the app follows it exactly — component weights, eligibility windows, and pass conditions. Where a course has an extra condition our calculators can't verify numerically (for example, a rule that depends on which specific question you answered), we say so directly next to the result rather than guessing. The S–U grade scale and CGPA grade-point values follow standard IITM BS program convention, since they aren't restated in the May 2026 term document itself.

Incomplete grades (I, I_OP, I_BOTH)

This distinction matters: if you were never eligible for the end-term exam or an OPPE, the outcome is a U grade and you repeat the course. An I, I_OP, or I_BOTH grade only applies if you were eligible but were absent, or failed an OPPE you were eligible to attempt — those let you complete just the missing piece in a later term instead of repeating everything. Exact conditions vary by course; check the official grading document for yours.
